Thinking about the different types of queries/apporoaches someone migh have to a collection search, and also the different AI techniques (and their limitations), I wantd to stop mapping out future tasks for me to pursue. It would also then need some way that all these different approaches can come together

Discovery

  • "What's in this collection" - Data visualation more than AI?

  • "What's in this collection of interst to me" - Personalised AI

Search:

  • Query Improver - Normalise a query to match the collection data structure/authorities (e.g. lookup the AAT identifier for a material and use facted search instead of text search)

Interrogation:

  • Explore a subset of results - RAG
